Who We Are

Let’s keep it simple: our site address is https://tech.wiz9jablog.com.ng. That’s our official home online. That’s where the action happens.

Comments

Whenever someone drops a comment on the site, we collect what you type in the form—that’s normal. But aside from that, we also grab your IP address and browser info. Why? To keep spammers off our page. Nobody wants that mess.

Also, if you’re using a Gravatar (that profile picture that pops up with your email), your email address gets hashed—basically scrambled—and checked against the Gravatar service. If it’s active, your profile photo will show with your comment once it’s approved. You can check Gravatar’s privacy terms here.

Media Uploads

Planning to upload pictures? Please make sure those photos don’t have location data (EXIF GPS) embedded. If you don’t remove that info, anyone on the site could download the image and extract where it was taken. And that’s not safe.

Cookies

Here’s the deal with cookies: if you leave a comment, the site might save your name, email, and website in cookies—just to save you from retyping them next time. These cookies hang around for about a year.

Visit the login page? We drop a temporary cookie to check if your browser can handle cookies. It doesn’t store personal info and disappears when you close your browser.

When you log in, a few cookies kick in to remember your login info and how you like your screen to look. Login cookies stick around for 2 days. Screen settings last a whole year. Choose “Remember Me,” and you’ll stay logged in for 2 weeks. Log out? Those cookies are gone.

If you edit or post an article, another cookie shows up. It doesn’t collect personal info—just notes the post ID. It’ll vanish after 24 hours.

Embedded Content from Other Sites

Sometimes, we post stuff like videos, images, or articles that come from other websites. Now here’s the thing: when that happens, it’s just like you visited those sites directly. That means they can collect your data, use cookies, and track how you interact with their stuff—especially if you have an account with them and you’re already logged in.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you ever request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the email. That’s just part of the security process.

How Long We Keep Your Data

Drop a comment? We keep it and all its details indefinitely. That way, if you come back to comment again, we won’t hold your message for moderation—it just flows through.

If you create an account, we store whatever personal details you provide. You can see, edit, or delete your info anytime (except your username—that stays fixed). Admins can also access and tweak that info if needed.

Your Rights Over Your Data

You’ve got full rights. If you’ve got an account or you’ve ever commented, you can ask us to send you a file of the personal data we have on you. You can also request that we delete your data. Just know, we still have to keep some information for legal or security reasons.

Where Your Data Goes

Every comment goes through an automatic spam checker. It helps us keep things clean and protect our space from fake interactions.
